RETURN VISITS usually mean that previous ones have been a great success. Which is just why the Doyenne and I, and Macbeth too, have spent two restful weeks at Portnockie enjoying a somewhat belated summer holiday. The more we get to know the Banff and Moray coast the more we enjoy returning there. (more…)

MACBETH SAW it first, and took off across the lawn. By his body language I guessed it might be a pheasant so I called him back to heel, and he returned somewhat reluctantly. (more…)

THE AUTUMN sun sits lower and lower in the sky as the season progresses, and the landscape takes on a different colour mantle. Macbeth and I were walking down a familiar track and the late afternoon sun was low enough to be quite blinding. (more…)
